Superb location, but narrow roads on the site and some pitches are very cramped - getting on to the pitches can be difficult. Site occupancy about 95% German so must be some kind of link there? There are some superb lake side pitches, all full so presumably they need to be booked in advance? Short walk into lovely Cannobio around the lake lido. Arriving & Leaving is chaotic - not enough space for simultaneous incoming and outgoing vans. The problem is made worse by early arrivals and poor location of motorhome point situated amongst it all (often blocked by parked cars). This site is great in many ways BUT the biggest annoyance for me was barking dogs! For most of the day it was like camping in a kennel. Many owners make no effort the keep the barking under control which is a disappointment and would prevent me from returning
We called them to hear if they have a free spot. They told us no reservations were possible but we should come in the morning and they would have spots - for sure. Next day in the morning the same lady told us they are completely full. We trusted the lady - our fault - but it messed up our entire plan.
We got a really beautiful place for our car at the front near the Lago. It was nice and quite. The bathrooms were always clean an fresh. Peferct place for your time at the lago maggiore. Cannobio is also a nice place to stay. The lago has clear water and is always a good idea for a short dive.
Very nice camping, quiet and verdant. We initially planned to stay one night, but extended our stay for one more night.
We used this as a half way stop before Genoa. Stayed for two nights. Great location, river beautiful! Although a bit too crowded and commercial for us it was nice that each pitch has its own privacy with green hedges dividing them. We really enjoyed it here.
Visited in July 2016 as a family. Lakeside spot. Camping in a tent.
Great campsite. Run by lovely people. In an AMAZING location. Next to a beautiful town. Great facilities. It would have been a 5* review.
BUT.
Every night at 11pm the outdoor nightclub 100m away at Lido Beach Lounge starts up. Think full on rave - lazers coming through the campsite. Bass thumping. Chanting crowds. We left after 3 nights. The very understanding owners gave a refund on the nights we cancelled and understood our reasons (thank you). We may have been unlucky as perhaps it was just because it was July. I really hope they close the club down and give this great campsite the quiet it's peaceful, friendly location and staff deserve.
The campground was very clean, very popular, you could walk straight down into the lake (sort of a little beach on the lake) good facilities.
It was a nice pitch we had for our tent, very spacious, met some great neighbours.
Price was as usual 37ish euro a night.
Would stay again!
The campsite is beautiful and full of flowers. We spent 4 nights in a bungalow on stilts. The bugalow was quite pretty. Unfortunately despite fact that the camping's website advertised private parking under the bungalow, the owner of the …
